The Air Force 1 has been around since 1982, but the early-2000s Uptown era holds a special place in sneaker history. From New York sneaker shops to hip-hop videos, the AF1 was everywhere, and the 2001 version became one of the defining shapes of the period. We're very much in favor of Nike bringing it back.
For 2026, Dark Team Red leather covers the upper and outsole, with White across the Swoosh, tongue, heel and midsole. The familiar perforated toe and classic Nike Air cushioning keep things straightforward. Good color blocking, good leather and a shape that doesn't need reinventing.
